Who says you can’t come home?

After a tough, two-game roadtrip Fresno State will finally come home for one last time in 2009. The Bulldogs will try to send out their seniors in style with a bounce-back performance against the “other” Bulldogs out of Louisiana Tech. Last season’s 38-35 loss may still be lingering with Fresno State, but a good showing on Saturday may help erase that. The Dog Krew will get you set for gameday, tell you everything you need to know about Louisiana Tech and we will make some predictions. Want to speak out about Fresno State football? As the saying goes, speaking of LA Tech, ” they might be the best 3-7 team in football.” However I don’t think it is going to be enough to beat Fresno State this week end. Numerous events this week end, i.e. senior day-bringing back the ‘89 Championship team-Coach Sweeney in the house and players trying to keep their jobs for next year-should be plenty of incentive to put our dogs over the hump.
Even with Matthews out, I think our Dogs have a lot to prove not only to themselves but to fans and community alike.
Prediction wise I have Fresno winning 38-24. I also think the trio of Harding, Miller and Colburn will have good performances.
Trivia question about LA Tech being National Football Champs–In 1972 they were 12-0 and 5-0 in the Southland Conference and National Football Foundation Champs. In 1973 they went 12-1 and were Division II Champs. Also in 1974 they went 11-1 and were United Press Intercollegiate Division Champs.
As an added note Terry Bradshaw of the Pittsburg Steelers and Fred Dean of the San Diego Chargers and San Francisco 49ers are both from LA Tech and NFL Hall of Famers.

Forgot to mention-5 Fresno State football players were recently recognized by the College Sports Information Directors to the Academic All District 8 teams. Tops in the NATION was Fresno’s Moses Harris, Robert Malone, Vince Pascoe, Andrew Jackson and Kevin Goessling.
As mentioned Fresno State placed 5 players–Penn State was second with 4.
Great job guys. Congrats to the coaching staff for that important emphasis to Academics.
